Luca Primon
We
are extremely privileged to have a close association with Maestro violin-maker Luca Primon of Milan.
Luca teaches violin-making at the Civica Scuola di Liuteria in Milan
and has won prizes for violin-making both nationally and internationally.
He makes regular visits to us and we enjoy the exchange of ideas and value
his expertise in instrument restoration and making. Every year Luca consigns
to us 1 or 2 of his internationally sought-after instruments.
We have commissioned a quartet from Luca which will be on view at our
shop and will be available as a resource for special performances and
local players. The instruments
received a very successful first performance at the Musicora exhibition
in Paris last year. However, July 7th 2002 saw the
UK première of the instruments as the recently formed string quartet Full
Circle played quartets by Beethoven, Mendelssohn and Shostakovich as
