Born Mazirot (Vosges France) 1842.

Established at Lille 1865.

This is a stunning example of his work, a beautiful figured  one piece back with luxurious red brown oil varnish on a warm golden  ground. The violin is in excellent condition.

The tone is full, powerful and brilliant, previously owned by orchestral leader.

It is also branded and signed on the inside.

Violinists desirous of speculating in violins cannot find a better investment than the purchase of a few Hels. Twenty years hence their value will be quadrupled.’

A genuine  artist whose very soul floated through the spirituality of fiddles

Henley’s Dictionary of Violin and Bow Makers.
